Blue screen of death 5-10mins in :x

So spec of comp

Abit ip35-e
2gb OCZ 800mhz
320mb innovision 8800gts
e4300 processor
Coolermaster Igreen 500w PSU

So at first i thought it was overheating...but the components feel warm at best and the monitoring software says they are fine too.

Right now im trying different ram.......that would really piss me off since this is new ram and makes no sense at all why it would not work in the system -.-

Just want to start a topic about it as i know trying ram probably wont be the last of it :x

Anyone had this problem with a simply solution :O? ALl help appreciated

I would start by running memtest if you haven't done so already:

Done 0 overclocking so far, trying the memtest now

If you've got two 1GB sticks in you may have to test them individually overnight.

The blue screen keeps telling me about drivers

And the only proper error message ive got on the screen was something like

IQRL_DRIVER_LESS_NOT_EQUAL

Could it be the driver supplied with the graphics card that is somehow mysteriously doing this?

Id love to test the ram individually overnight, but i cant stay booted long enough to do so, and have no other comp in the house that can run 800mhz :x

Try completely uninstalling the graphics card and then get the latest drivers from the nVidia site.

again im really struggling to stay booted long enough...the time stable seems to be diminishing :x

I got the latest drivers ready to install before instlaling this new one, but used the cd provided to be safe, im attempting to do so now, will report back!

you should be more stbable in safe mode, i think you could install new drivers and stuuf from there.

btw use driver clener to get your old drivers off so that there is no confilct

Press F8 when your PC is booting up and go into safe mode. You should be able to remove the graphics card drivers from there.

What driver version did you install?

yep nvidia drivers will install in safe mode. good luck !

Okay the drivers sorted it out for the last 30 mins...now its saying theres an audio driver error :X sigh

well sounds like you need to go and update what you can to bring you up to date, microsoft updates can cause problems with old drivers.

try a manual windows update and check the hardware option to see if the sound driver update is there, if not track it down to the sound card makers support site. glad the video is fixed so far, fingers crossed bud.

you may have a corrupt hard drive as well ?

hit start and press run, type cmd in the cmd windows and the dos box will show.

type chkdsk c:
let it run, if it finds a problem it will say it cant continue and will need to do it on the reboot, agree and reboot. this may take a couple of hours if it is needed on the reboot.

Thanks gonzo, i actually did a chkdisk whilst changing the drivers, it didnt ask for a boot and found no anamolies or things worth reporting.

Im downloading some new drivers for the mobo as it was realtekaud_system in the last blue screen and thats the onboard sound of the mobo, hopefully we should be fine after that, as weve never had any issues at all with this hard drive and its worked flawlessly for a long time now.
