What do you think of this 8800gts?

    http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s...nov-88gts3&P=1

It looks like one of the standard budget Plait/xpert vision/galaxy ones but at £175.07 and with a lifetime warranty from Novatech.

Anyone had any experience with these lower cost cards?

Now I've had to use novatech's rma before, I got my current 6800LE from them and although it was listed as novatech brand when I got it originally, what arrived was a LeadTech card.
However it actually had duff memory which I discovered after an hour of play, I phoned them up the next day and got the card RMA'd without hassle.

Just wondering if my overdraft can take another £175

Most of these things are reference design and just work. The only cards i can think of recently that had a bad failure rate were the 7900 cards and the problem was regardless of manufacturer...

Certainly looks fine, a good ol' stock 8800GTS, nothing wrong with that. Lifetime warranty is a nice cherry on top Even more of a bargain if you take a trip to their shop / warehouse to get it. Don't be suprised if you receive what seems to be a branded card though, they often do that much like your 6800LE, for example:

Well, you can get a BFG overclocked card for £185.73 including delivery from ebuyer (or Scan when it's on 'Today Only'). This also comes with a lifetime warranty.

So something to bear in mind.

    That BFG is nice.

also another great novatech rebrand http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/s....html?NOV-79GS you can see the word "winfast" on the hs&f which is LeadTek again

Although from that picture the 8800GTS has got the novatech logo on the fan hub.

Got an e-mail from EVGA's european support guy the other day that said EVGA only gave a 10-year warranty in Europe, as they weren't allowed to give more than that under EU regulations... could have been talking boffocks as all RAM has lifetime, doesn't it.....!?

No most of them are actually 10year warranties, as in 10years time they would be totally obslete anyway. And the companies will probably no longer exist anyway.
