    DD3-worth it?

    hello,

I am considering purchasing either a motherboard supporting DDR3, or an MB supporting DDR2.

DDR2 is considerably cheaper, and currently, it performs better.

So, do you think it is worth putting in a large amount of cash for DDR3, and hope it turns out to be a decent option for upgrades in the future (it sure isn't right now)?

    Thanks!

Gigabyte do one that supports both..

Otherwise I would get a DDR2 board. I can't see any advantage to ddr3 at the moment.

I'd suggest saving the cash and buying more DDR2. I've always been a proponent that when it comes to RAM, it should be quantity over quality.
