Hi guys the word i said was due to Ad-15 mentioning he wanted to add extra hard drives and upgrading a higher wattage could be an option. But for this system the Corsiar 620w is more than sufficient.

    imo -

drop down to the 8800GTX, the Ultra is overkill
    PC6400RAM
go for a bigger hard drive

Get PC6400 memory, Dominator PC8500 is for extreme overclocking.

The PSU is perfect, leave it be.

A GTX Ultra is overkill, especially when considering that these cards are yet to be properly tested in DX10. You'd be gutted if you'd just spent all that money on a 'DX10 compatible' card but the performance turned out to be mediocre.

The HDD is the weakest link but if you're not going with RAID and only need 160GB then fair doos (I'd make it a Samsung drive though ).

Dell E series monitors have a bad reputation, go for a Samsung 226BW or LG L226WTQ.

    Drop Norton, it's the devil.

Change the CPU cooler to a AC Freezer 7 Pro as it's quieter.

Don't use Akasa Amber case fans, go with the Sharkoon Golf Ball or Scythe S-FLEX range.

Drop the high end X-Fi card and go with a simple X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, the X-RAM in the higher end cards has no use at all.

    hello,

I'm looking into the cooling stuff now. I've also decided to stick with the X-FI as it comes with the little external thing that could prove very useful, it's not that much extra.

This is most interesting, what exactly is wrong with the E-series of Dell monitors?

Again, thankyou so much for your help guys!

    hello,

I have had a look at the case cooling. I have found this fan (pretty much the same one as you have reccomended NightShadow):

    http://www.scan.co.uk/products/produ...oductID=532628

I have worked it out and with 5 fans in the case, it works out at 10db less noise (not accounting for complications like interference), with £31 increase. Bear in mind I have also ordered acoustic matting, which drains out the higher frequency bands.

And you're saying that SM 226BW does not have a bad reputation? I would say go for a Dell 2007/2407WFP, as already suggested.

Never go off the rated dB, although Noctua fans are supposedly good anyway. If you do go with them get the 1200RPM model as at 800RPM hardly any air will be moved. I still strongly recommend the 120mm Sharkoon 1000 though.

Custom PC did a 120mm fan round-up a while ago and they came out on top. Plus I've used them myself and they move a respectable amount of air while still staying extremely quiet.

When properly set up the Samsung 226BW's are good, regardless of which panel you get.

Having said that, I've done some reading and the Dell E228WFP seems alright, although it's still overpriced for the specs.

    hello,

I've placed the order now, it's all done and out of the way.

Thankyou very much everyone for all your help and advice, I would have made many mistakes other wise.

It's basically the same spec, except for one of the drives being upgraded to a 16mb cache 250gb Western Digital 7200rpm for my gaming. The price differences are silly anyway, so it doesn't make a difference.

    Overall, I paid £2,439.34.

Personally i would swap out the Corsair for the Enermax Infiniti.
Similar price but Infiniti is a better unit.

    EDIT:
    £84 for a Tagan
