    P35 DS3P - Arctic cooling freezer pro 7

I'm gonna buy a new pc very soon, my current machine is very loud, and it's annoying. So i am trying to build a quieter one.

I'm thinking of getting the freezer pro because i've heard it's very good value for money, and it's not too heavy so i don't have to mess around with a backplate.

However, it doesn't have a speed control dial and it's quite loud on full tilt (apparently).

So, what do you guys use to control your CPU fan speeds?
The ds3p has some onboard fan speed control, but i don't know how effective it is

    Thanks

I have this combo.... Currently running my E6600 with rubbish thermal paste, no case cooling, and overclocked to 2700MHz 100% rock solid at about 42*c. There is an app that comes with the board that throttles the fan to completlely silent unless you are doing something really CPU heavy... It's a superb combo

Well I reckon the freezerpro is quiet in my P180, methinks the guys who reckon it's noisy may have crappy cases.

I find that my freezer Pro 7 is fine with quite fan turned on in the BIOS
And it's keeping my pentium D about 5 degrees cooler than the stock cooler

My one word of warning is that if you'er useing a rear case fan and a PSU that has a 120mm fan on the bottom, is that the Freezer pro 7 + zalman case fan combo can suck the air too well, it was giveing me problems as the PSU couldn't get enough air through it.
This would depend on your case layout and PSU.
I sorted out mine by moveing the zalman case fan to the front of my case to suck in air, the majority of the air the freezer pro 7 is moveing still goes out through the rear grill and the PSU is sucking out the rest.

    I'm thinking of getting:

    e6420
    gigabyte p35 ds3p
    corsair hx 520w
x1950xt (or 8800gts, been as ebuyer just put the price of an 1950xt up from £106 to £115) grr
    lian li pc-7
    2gb corsair xms2 5400

That's a really good idea, removing the rear case fan, would be perfect if the HSF aligns with the case grills on the lian li. I guess i just have to hope it does.

    Depends which Pc-7
I can find 3 on the website
    PC-7YCF(OEM)
    PC-7 PLUS II
    PC-7S(Special Series)

Although all of these 3 seem to use one 120mm fan in the front and one 120mm fan in the back.
Depends what the speed and power of these fans are to if it'd steal air from the PSU

I think part of my problem is that the Zalman 92mm fan moves a heck of a lot of air at full speed and that the cpu is rather close to the top of the board on the ASRock 4core dual Vsta motherboard.

PS The rear air vents on cases are almost always inline with the cpu

I'm hopefully gonna get the PC-7 PLUS II (rear 120mm fan)
    http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/98529

Apparently the older PC-7 PLUS used to have 1x80mm rear fan. And there's no way to tell from the boxes, so retailers don't specify which they sell.
Hopefully all of those have been sold/out of production.
