You automatically assume that you should expect poor support, but if the hardware was put back several months, then there wouldnt be that problem would there

In an ideal itr would all work out sweetly but its just never going to happen.

No, the hardware's general release is put back, and the driver development continues for 6 months with beta testers. Makes sense to me anyway
