not sure if you realise this, but im pretty sure you've got 3 dvd re-writters in your basket?

And are you going to be using many cpu intensive apps? If not id say get the E6600.

Also Id scrap the zalman cooler, and get an arctic cooling freezer 7 pro, cheaper, quiter and a much better performer if you ask me.

Is it worth swapping the floppy for one with a built in memory card reader?

lol ye i do realise i have 3 dvd burners... 1 is for my dads PC (the IDE one)

I thought i would get the quad core to like future-proof it, and also because i plan to play many games such as crysis etc..

and about the zalman..i looked at this mega test
    http://www.hexus.net/content/item.ph...=8757&page=115

and the zalman does very well.... it also looks sexy!

i thought that too but like at pc2-6400, i was told it would be perfectly fine, because its at 800Mhz, as its 1:1 dram divider settings, the fsb will be maximum 400. And multiply that by the multiplier on the q6600 which is 9.. which is 3.6Ghz, and i will never overclock it too that much (dont even think it goes to that much), i will most likely OC it to 3ghz..

Scan seem to only sell one in black that would suit your needs:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=115291

I have little experience with them to be honest, they seem pretty generic these days so it should be fine. If you have more exotic cards it might be worth getting an external usb card reader instead.

Looks good to me, only think I can fault is an overpriced CPU cooler. I second what rastamanblues said, get the AC Freezer 7 Pro.

Also, PC6400 memory is fine. The Q6600 has a 9x multiplier so:

    PC6400 = 800MHz = 400 x 9 = 3.6GHz

Couldn't ask for much more really.

Obviously wiat for price cuts 22nd July, then that should save you enough to get a 8800GTX for the same price, or just save the cash for next upgrade

see ordinarily i would. I just want a bit of bling in my case, which i will get with the sexy fins, and the green LED.
And also in that mega test, the zalman outperformed the AC7 quite considerably!!!

I used to have one of the zalmans in my case, and tbh yeah it might have cooled everything down by an extra degree or 2, but it was very noisy, so I switched to an AC Freezer 7 Pro, and now I cant really notice it. But if you've got the money its all down to personal preference.

Yeah it comes with a fan adjuster thing, or If you really wanted to you could get a fan controller etc, and if your gonna be using headphones then it wont matter.
