    Graphics Card choice

Hey, for my first build I was all set to buy a 320mb BFG 8800GTS OC, but i noticed that ebuyer have the 320mb EVGA 8800GTS Superclocked for just £189.99, only about £4 more than I was gonna pay for the BFG. Ive no experience in dealing with either of these companies as my last few cards have been by XFX. But I noticed they both offer a handy lifetime guarantee aswell so which would you guys go for? My head tells me to go for the superclocked card, but my heart keeps saying "umm I wonder if I can get that BFG t-shirt to shrink to a Medium", hahahaha.

the bfg has its shader memory clocked so thats what i would go for. EVGA in the uk is only 10 year warranty as far as I know but..10 years..lifetime...i doubt you would want to use it in 5 years let alone 10 lol.

BFG looks better and comes with stickers

I have the BFG card, it eats through everything at 1680x1050, plus it can be overclocked further still...

You must be meaning the 640mb version and not the 320mb one ?

    Erm... nope!

There's about 2-3 FPS difference between the two at 1680x1050 - check the benchmarks.

This month's Custom PC compares them very nicely. You need 640MB for 1920x1200 though.

Got the EVGA 8800GTS 320mb ASC3 KO, absolutely brilliant card, the EVGA step-up programme gave it the nod over the BFG for me.

Eh? I run an 8800GTS 320mb at 1680x1050, like Russ said it hammers through everything. 320mb beats 640mb at lower resolutions, they're pretty much equal at around 1680x1050 then 640mb slightly pulls away with anything over.

    Thank you

You only need 640MB for 1920x1200 and above on current games...

You need to go to GTX to get something SIGNIFICNATLY better at 1680x1050.

Hey guys, thanks for the help and advice. I've decided to go for the BFG card as it gets the majority of the votes. Just anxiously awaiting on delivery of everything now, cant wait to get started.
