Elite pro x-fi digital connection

hello,

If I were to use digital speakers, where would I connect them on an X-fi Elite Pro? Is there a connection on the main soundcard? I would prefer the coaxial connection, although I know there is virtually no difference in the sound product.

I would also like to know this, If its not on the breakoutbox it should be the same for my xtreme music. i would like to wire that up to my amp digitally but i have no idea how to do it. May have to save up for something new or have another crack at the onboard sound card.

Use one of these will do you then use an ordinary digital coax cable.

The furthest port from the large connector on the pci bracket,

Use one of these will do you then use an ordinary digital coax cable.

I tried using one of those but it didn't work, instead i used one of these and the left channel held the digital data.

P.S. no need to buy that one off maplin as any cheap one off ebay will do the same job

I used one with an X-Fi into some Cambridge 250D's with no problems at all. In fact still using it with an older SB 5.1 digital card.

I used the minijack to RCA cable as mentioned before by Hasnath and works a treat cheers.

If using vista make sure you go to the sound settings in control panel, then on the speakers choose properties and in the 'custom' tab, check the box labelled enable digital io. Also in sound settings I have the SPDIF set as default im not sure if this is necissary.

When playing games such as battlefield and COD i cant seem to get a digital surround signal, just stereo. Dolby prologic isnt really what im after in games tbh. Im beggining to think i should scrap this damn XFI again... everytime i think i get somewhere with it it thorws it in my face and crackles to itself!
