- Antec Sonata 3 ~ £76.36
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 ~ £142.16
- Asus P5B i965 ~ £66.14
- 2GB (2X1GB) Corsair VS PC5300 ~ £45.27
- 320MB BFG Technology 8800GTS OC ~ £186.68
- 500GB Samsung HD501LJ ~ £63.86
- Optiarc (Sony/NEC) AD-7170S-0B ~ £19.85
Total ~ £600.32

Antec PSU's are apparently really good although I'll let someone else confim whether it can handle an 8800GTS.
What monitor do you have by the way?
Yeah i wouldnt worry about the power on that it should be fine
Cheers i know price drop in july is it worth going quad ?? i have old 19" sony ctr monitor
Personally i dont think its worth going quad till the true quadcores have been released. ATM the quadcore CPUs are 2 duals whacked together. I would say go with the E6600 as its getting pretty cheap now and probs best bang for buck.
What do you use the computer for? that might give us better inducation to its usefullness for u
I would say cut down the 8800 to a 1950xt or pro (if you only do a bit of gaming) and put towards a nice 19" TFT. You can compare graphics cards here
(although the 8800GTS is the 640MB version, not 320).
Almost a year ago i went from an old 17" CRT (was really old), to a 19" TFT and it was really good, it was surprising how better the image was. However your CRT could be a decent one.
:) was thinking 8800 cards and i think my monitor is ok think i would like to keep win xp or is it best to go vista?? is the 6600 be cheaper in july ??
God knows, probably, but there will be new processors introduced with 1333MHz bus. There will be a 6750 which is equal to 6700, and it's price should be around that of 6600. Anyway, worth the wait :)
So is this case quite an psu powerfull to run this kind of spec ??
