akasa eclipse/mirage.. takes a bit more effort to make them as quiet as the p182 but its do able.
Something like scythe s flex fans with a controller would do.
I've got a p182 and an eclipse. As much as I like the eclipse the p182 is better imo. Whats wrong with having a fan on top..the best cases I can think of silverstone tj-07 and tj-09 have fans on top.. it aids cooling of your cpu as it doubles the extraction of air.
The door on the p182 is fine unless you are going to try and swing it around the room by it...
I cant recommend the p182 enough but the akasa's are good to.
dont know what to do. apart from the water cooling pipe holes at the back and fans at the top. maybe i would be better going for a p180 as i wouldnt need them 2 features anyway?
Go for the p182 :)
Antec Solo can be made to be pretty silent
that was the one I was going to suggest looking at (it's on my shortlist :)) - comes with optional suspension mounts for your hard drives and suchlike I think. It's basically a black (&Alu) version of the P150 http://www.silentpcreview.com/article272-page7.html <--useful site perhaps?
Antec also do the nsk4000 (or nsk4400 which is the same case but with an included psu) which is a cheapo quiet case by the look of it. The front I believe is silver plastic on the nsk range though (did I mention it was cheap?)
There is a very good review on the Hexus site about the P182:

Bottom line is, it is worth the money
All of my friends have one (P180) and it is quiet like hell :)
Another vote for the antec solo here !! Had one of these and it was indeed quiet ! If you pick your components carefully it would be about as quiet as it gets !! :)
P180 is a great case, and the P182 is reportedly even better....
P182 is what I would buy if I were building today.
What about the Akasa Zen as this has two 120mm fans??
cheers for all your suggestions guys. I have decided to go for the P182 :) just getting all me oder together
I recommend the Antec 900. It has 4 fans, 2 120's in the front, one in the back and a 200mm monster on top.
I'm running all my fans on low, and they keep my system cool even when stressing it out with Orthos (it nevers goes above 50*c).
My E6420 is OC'd to 3.2ghz with the TR 120 Extreme + Scythe Sflex-F Fan, so that's a total of 6 fans including the 8800 GTS 640 I forgot to mention.
I honestly don't even know the computer is on! I can barely hear the fans, and I hear the Seagate Barracuda above that, and that's not even a distraction since it's in the middle of the bottom HDD cage.
I was going to get the P180b and glad I didn't.
Go for the P182. quiet, well built and respected brand. can't go wrong!
