Hmm ... well I have a very noob question, but I believe that I better make sure I'm not doing something wrong to my new little cpu/mobo/mem system.
CPU: C2D E6600 @ 2.4GHz
M/B: Asus P5K Deluxe WiFi
MEM: Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 2GB Kit
What would be the correct configurations in order to get the stock 2.4GHz? That is, what are the DRAM settings and such that I need to set in the BIOS to reach 2.4GHz?
By default, it seems that the BIOS sets everything to 1603 MHz core speed... (as displayed in CPU-Z) with little jumps to the ~ 2400 MHz from time to time (with the multiplier increasing from 6 to 9).
CPU-z also reports my MEM to be @ 400.9 MHz, with a FSB : DRAM of 2:3, CAS latency of 33 clocks as well a DDR3 type of memory (Mine are DDR2 afaik, though). It also says that my MEM sticks are PC2-6400 (400MHz)
I'm a bit confused. Can someone help me understand what's "wrong" and what should be done to get the stock 2.4GHz out of my system.
Cheers

I thought so, but I was unsure about the "little" jumps from 1600 MHz to 2400MHz
