At present I have Vista and it is sooooooooooo slow compared to Xp.I will admit my comp is not the greatest -A8N Sli Premium(Asus) this is the 939 model XFX 7300 SLI 2 gb DDr ram Amd X2 4400 CPU.

But since I have the chance to get a Quad Core I will prob pass this on to my son who to is a gamer.

PSU in india is a problem.May be we have been spoilt because a decent case with a PSU of 400 watts retails for less 20$.A psu of say 500Watts cost aboutRs.700/-say 17-18$.This is true power.

The case I propose to us is my exisisting Asus - made in India under license.

Will of course install dvd player&writer

    Spot on!
Vista is slow as a direct result of your PC specs.
Also, why 7300's in SLi?? I doubt you benefit at all from that.

Re: Advice for a gaming comp

    Folks .

    I screwed up..nothing new.

I bought an Asus P5K3 Deluxe mobo which uses DDR3 ram.

Not only is it very expensive (compared to ddr2) but also not available in India.

    Suggestions pls
