    P5K-E Wifi Issues

BSOD left right, and indeed center..

Been reading about all the SATA issues people seem to have, set to ACHI mode with Robson switched on.
Fresh install too, only thing in the logs is a IaStor timeout error.

Ditched my AB9 cos it was killing my drives, at least it worked and only had 1 dodgy SATA channel on it ;/

What BIOS version are you running?

Never use the windows bios flashing thing on an Asus board, the chances are, itll end up dead.

You just need a usb stick with the rom file extracted to it, enter the bios, go to tools>ezflash and loacate the rom file, and it will prompt you to do the rest.

Grab the latest bios from here.

Grab the latest chipset drivers from here as well.

I was amazed when I used EZ-Flash. It just worked. That seems pretty rare with computer parts these days. Its more like "faf around for hours trying to get the damn thing working"

Hope the latest BIOS update sorted your problem and you'll post soon to let us know. I've got a P5K-E here waiting for its Q6600 G0. I intend to enable ACHI but am not sure what the "Robson" bit is all about. I assume it is the same Intel technology that is referred to as "Turbo Cache" in the new Santa Rosa laptops that have come out. Is it working with flash memory on the hard drive electronics and can my Sammy T166 Spinpoints make use of it? Anybody got any ideas?
Apparently, "Do whatever you like" should NOT be considered authorisation to build my uber rig!

    Re: P5K-E Wifi Issues

No-one tells you when they recommend these things that it's an absolute pain getting the IDE cable from your optical drives to the only IDE port, on the other side of the board! Especially when your big graphics card is in the way. I guess this is ASUS's way of telling me to get SATA optical drives...
