When you built this system, you did reformat the hard drive and re-install everything from scratch, didn't you?
Also if you believe it to be Video dribers, you can run the system without any nVidia drivers, having removed them (and used Driver Cleaner) - you can simply use the build-in VGA driver.
Sure it will be sluggish... but will enable you to prove (or disprove) that the graphics drivers are the cause.....
Hmm i didnt reformat the hd and reinstall everything...dont tell me thats fooked the whole system :x its been running great until today with the new card+ram at least.
I dont think its the card anymore as it would say on the blue screen, it only happens now about 20-30mins into a game
ok it looks like the ram was the problem, the brand new 60 quid ram out of the box somehow makes the system crash =.= should i return it? or is there anything that can make it work -.-
what ram is it ? can u up the voltage by a point ?

It seems the bios was running the ram at a voltage too low than intended, its all sorted now thanks to everyone who posted here learnt a few lessons for the next build at least :P
