on my e6300 im going to be running it at stock on light use (utorrent, msn, firefox) as ive quit gaming and only have an x300 now
is it safe to run it without the fan on (the heatsink is mahoosive)

oh and its in an antec 900 with yate loons instead of the blue led fans that come with it :)

2nd question what is yate loons?
The Antec Nine Hundred has blue LED fans.
He didn't mention the stock cooler. Yate Loons are a brand of quiet fans BTW.Quote:

well i was gonna run the 200m fan at the top and the yate at the back / side that way its surrounded at one side, and turn off the two at the front ?

Just to add my $0.02, if you're running a two fans in close proximity to the tower heatsink, I'd also say you were fine. I've been doing that in a P180 with a E6300 for close to 6 months now, and not had any problems with the CPU temps. HTH :)
I can run my E4300 stock passive with a ninja at stock volts. You can try undervolting it as well mine will go down to 1.09 V stock freqs, orthos stable.
