all the latest driver, cpu cooler is a zalman 9700 which i have just bought, the previous cooler was the stock amd cooler, and the results were the same for both.

i also used driver cleaner to remove all the ati drivers and then downloaded the latest cats off the amd system

all the parts work fine in my shuttle, and the psu tests ok.

with the list that dfi reccomend it seems that they all want bigger PSU's

i need to reformat and clean install, but can anyone offer any other ideas, tweaks, hints for me to try??

is it worth me getting a different s939 board and hoping, or am i still best getting a better PSU then blitzen?
    Ditch the mobo imho.
The DFI, like i said, are decent enough, but there are more trouble than they are worth

IIRC, DFI are 'in bed' with OCZ and all the OCZ range are spot on for the DFI's.
I would still personally ditch the board though.

A good 620W PSU like the one you have bought (although poor value), would power a small town. What more proof do you need that these boards are 'bleeders'.
