Best gaming mouse?

I'm trying to find something to buy from Scan to get my order above £20, and the only thing I can really think of that I need is a mouse. I currently have a Raptor M1 which I really like because it's 1600dpi, so I could do with something that has at least that resolution, but I need something with more buttons than the standard 2 + mousewheel. Not too bothered about cordless/corded, looking to spend around £30.... any suggestions? I know logitech are supposedly good, but they have that many variants I'm

If only you'd asked yesterday, I think Scan had the Logitech G5 on offer for about £32.

As it is, I'm pretty pleased with my mx518, pretty accurate andmore buttons than you can shake a stick at...

Had a quick search through the forums and couldn't find any other threads about mice, that's why I started this one as I need to order this evening, but if you are that bothered then don't reply.

Thanks for the warning, nearly ordered the standard one with only one thumb button, when I need one with two. Only problem with the G5 2007 is that I think it looks hideous. Sod it, getting the 518, not too fussed about more than 1600dpi anyway. Cheers again

The Logitech G5 is very good, but if your a bit hard up the mx518 will do the job for you.

All the razer mice are simply brilliant! and probably the best looking!

The build quality, feel and lastibility is excellent., would strongly recommend them.

Also the prices are far more comparible with other mice these days (about £35-40 i think)

the best gaming mouse i have ever had (and still use) is the microsoft trackball optical - perfect for right-handed gaming, with 5 buttons, wheel, and trackball - no need to move your whole hand to look up or down in that FPS game - just move your thumb.

unfortunately not much available in the UK anymore, and quite expensive in the states too (around 60dollars).

mine has lasted 6 years and is still going strong, i dont think it can be beaten.
