    XP Cooling

My main rig is running an XP2500 Oc'd to 3200 with an SLK800 hfs on it with just a normalish 80mm case fan(~2500rpm) and the temps are fine(47oC Idle 58oC Load) but I want it to be quieter, if I turn my case fans on the front to low the temps jump upto ~65oC load, while I know these aint exactly hot I would prefer to be able to keep the fans low but still get nice temps, anyone got any recommendations on heatsink/fan combo's that allow use of nice big heatsink, nice big fan, nice temps with little noise?
Was thinkin one of them Zalman things but I'm not sure how they cope with the higher rated CPU's...

The newer zalmans (the ones with the 92mm fan) should be fine, so long as it fits your motherboard.

Aparantly nice and quiet and good at cooling too. Pretty pricey though. I'd have one if I had a a mobo to take it!

Trig....is there ANY CHANCE your case would get quiter with a new PSU not a new heatsink?

Cos I didn't change my PSU for that reason, but HELL it made the BIGGEST difference EVER..and no word of a lie....I actually double checked my other case fans cos I thought I'd forgotten to put them back on!

    Antec Trupower 430.....£80 of deliciousness

    Just an idea bud

Before you go splashing out on a new hs/f,i'd recommend you try something like a delta she or vantec tornado on the slk-800,use this with a zalman fanmate or similar.I went from a normal case fan to this set-up and with the delta on low it is nice and quiet and still about 3-5*c better,as well as that when your gaming you can just whack the fan up a bit for some heavy duty cooling...which the slk benifits from bigtime as the fins are so tightly spaced.

otherwise get an SP-97 heatpipe or an mcx462-v
