A friends PSU just blew, taking a load of other bits with it. Consequently he needs PSU,CPU, MOBO, etc, to go in to a new build. The budget is dead on £130. The rig is only used for web surfing, ripping music, etc. Have had a look around and found

For a prebuilt system, that's about as good as you'll get in terms of price, but why not take the plunge and do it yourself
An easy start is the ASUS Vintage V2, with the motherboard and powersupply pre-installed

£133 all told, and a much nicer system. The X2 3800+ will keep you going a lot longer than the Sempron 3600 that came with the bundle. The difference will be like night and day. Just means you have to put in half an hours effort :eek: :)
Scan (www.scan.co.uk) do a good range of asus barebones systems - case, mobo and PSU. You just need to buy a processor, memory and install the other components you have.
AMD am2 processors are extremely good value for money at the moment, so you could put together a pretty good general purpose system for around £100 or so (depending on your memory requirement, processor speed etc. One word of caustion, the expansion facilities of these units is limited, usually only a couple of slots, but since sound, graphics and LAN are all on the mobo anyway, it shouldn't be too much of a snag.
I have built a few of these of these for general use (surfing, word processing, e mail etc) and they perform well. I also use one, built about 3 years ago as a web server - again, perfectly adequate.
If ypou are looking for the latest/greatest/fastest top notch gaming machine, these probably won't do it, but it sounds as if your requirement is not that demanding.

Novatech's bundels are great for people who are a bit scared of building there own pc's as all there bundels are pre-built now (it used to be an optional extra)
cheapest is buy bit's and put them together yourself. As long as no games are involved onboard graphics are fine

For a couple of quid more than the VIA chipset Asus barebones, you can get the NVidia one which is even good for a few games.
