My new Coolermaster case arrived today - Yay! Unfortunately cos of the rush of changing cases and all, I broke something. It happened to be a pin on my hard drive :(
I broke pin 21, the one above and to the left of 20? and its a drq3 pin? I tried booting the system up with the drive but it gets to the loading winXP screen and stays there. Can the drive be fixed? Thanks.
lob a new pin in there using skills of tweezers or something :)

The only way (that I can think) of doing what you ask - "less DIY ish" is to desolder whats left of the offending pin, obtain a good one from a faulty drive and then solder that in.
Put a pin in the relevant connector on the IDE cable so that it meets with what has snapped off - if possible.
Doh. Well Im sure my soldering skills are still with me from 3rd year electronics :)

K Ill try putting a pin in the cable and see how it works. If not then Ill start 'attacking' my HD with the soldering iron. Anyways thanks a lot.

You could have brought a IDC PCB Header Plug (2*20 pin!)
at Maplin or from CPC or anyother electronics store and replace the whole connector.
