Hi, A friend has a Philips MP3 player (I-pod style I guess) not sure of the make yet as he hasn't given it to me yet. He said he has wiped the drivers off it and now it doesn't work, he asked me if I could fix it - so question is can you put the drivers back on these things? I'm guessing you can but I've never had one before so don't know.

Drivers? The only thing I can think of is that he has had a failed firmware flash........If that's the case, it may need to go back to the manufacturer.
Unless it has some kind of recovery mode, or you're good with an external programmer and a soldering iron :D
with that description i would wait till you get your hands on it and see whats wrong for yourself :)
