Are you unable to take the hard drive cage out of the sg01?
I'd thought about ghetto modding the hard drives and the fan inside with gaffa tape (not got access to many tools minus a screw driver and plyers at the moment), but I wondering if there was a case that can hold it normally. Moving around a bit at the moment, so was looking for something that fastens together secure and is portable (why I choose the sg01 after the back ache of lugging a chieftec dragon around). If I change case I have a use for the current one, which is why I was considering the switch. So far, the ones I heard that can hold it are the new sugo, tj08, and according to a friend, the cheap ebuyer matx case.
As far as i know most of the shuttle style cases can fit them in the same way the sg01 can.. which is to remove the hard drive bay and probably stick the hard drive in the floppys space or in the second dvd drive slot with an adapter.
THe sugo sg03 does as far as I know..it's quite small and will do the job. But it does lack a rear fan..I don't know how much that affects the temps though.
Thing is, depending on the amount of cables you have the 2nd CDrom bay is normally used to tuck those cables away.
Have a sugo01 myself with an x1900xt presently installed; whats the best card that will fit in this case?
The 8800GTS will fit and should allow you to keep the hard drive cage in place :)
Thanks for reply but prefer ati tbh.
As far as i know the ATI 2900xt is 9.5" long so that should fit a sugo without removing the hard drive cage to.
Thanks staffsMike - is that both the 1gb and 512mb versions?
Yeah they're the same size afaik.
Wondering now whether to sell my asus p 479 motherboard and T2400 and getting a matx 775 board and a Q6600.
just be careful with the stepping on the quad as the B9's wont appriciate low profile coolers
Are the B9's the newer ones or the old slower bus ones?
Same bus speed just a revision of the same chip.
theres the B9's and the G0's (newer lower power consumption ones which run cooler)
I thought the slim zalman flower could cool the b9's ok to about 3.0ghz?
