    Recommend me a cooler

Ok, so I'm rehoming and upgrading my C2D rig - it's getting transplanted from a V600 to a V1000, and the CPU is being bumped to an E6850 as detailed at http://forums.hexus.net/showthread.php?t=113589

Normally I hate crossposting, but on Clunk's chimp-like advice I'm going to see what response I get here.

Essentially I'm looking for a recommendation for a high performance air cooler that will fit on my P5B-Deluxe Wifi inside a Lian Li V1000. BUT as all the rest of my kit is coming from Scan I'd prefer to order from there.

    What do you recommend?

im not sure how much space there is inside that lian li, but if i was going to be buying a cooler today it would have to be the thermalright 120 extreme

I think the Ultra-120 would fit inside a V1000, but it could be a tight squeeze. Scan don't sell that cooler, though. The Scythe Ninja is highly regarded but again it's very tall and might not fit, maybe the Scythe Infinity?

I have a Noctua NH12 in my v1000 (DS4 mobo). Fits nicely in the case about 3 cms from the exhaust fan.

With 2 fans on it it runs nice and cool.

You should also experiment with the case fans facing both ways to see what gives you the better temps.

If you want to stick with Lian-Li's airflow design a Scythe Mine would probably be a good choice.
