    No contest

Especially if you want to use a digital connection to your speakers (creative cards can't upmix a 2.0->5.1 signal via digita)

I just got one of these cards and its pretty good, the spiritual successor to Nvidia's Soundstorm and Intel HDA. The only thing it lacks is EAX 5.0 support, but it supports up to 2.0, and openAL etc which is more than good enough for 99.9% of games out there. Plus you will love it for DVDs

i personally wouldn't buy another Creative X-fi. It crackles and has high latency in recording and playback.

Another one for the X-Plosion - Excellent card, and the drivers work well too.

Yes they can - you just have to use the connection that creative uses, and not the Optical / Coax ones
