    Overclocking help/rig

Im investing in a new rig and it will be the first time i will ever do some overclocking so im not exactly einstein on the subject so im looking for some advice on the potential hardware etc.

CPU - Intel E6600, E6750, Q6600 (all depends on price drops and what they go down to)
    GPU - Nvidia 8800GTS 320MB
    RAM - 2GB DDR2 PC2-6400
    Mobo - Need some advice
    Cooler - Need some advice
    PSU - Need some Advice
    HDD - 1xSATA II (320) 1xSATA I (160) 1xIDE (80)
Soundcard - Creative X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7.1 Soundcard PCI-E (Budget permitting)
    DVD R+-RW - Samsung SATA SH-S183

Will this stuff all be alright and are there any recomendations u guys have (budget of around £700ish)

Well, if you want to go dual core why not the new E6X50 range like the E6550 with the new fsb of 1,333 you could get the newer P35 boards and then easily overclock from there. A cooler could be anything really it depends on how much you want to overclock and how much you are willing to spend. A PSU about 600W should do the trick again e.g Corsair HX 620W etc.

Let me see what I can come with in that price range. DO you need a mouse/keyboard or harddrive/OS ?

    But after seeing this:

The Advice on next PC - £700-£800 thread near the bottom you would like to have a look at the last post by NightshadowUK who had made a set up for someone already almost like you want, the problem is i can't quote it nor give you the url for it.

Everything you've listed gets a thumbs up from me (aside from the hard drive choices), as for the rest...

    Motherboards:

    - Gigabyte GA P35C-DS3R ~ £84.59

    - Asus P5K-E/WIFI-AP ~ £114.55

    - Asus P5K Deluxe ~ £136.29

    Coolers:

    - Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro ~ £15.97

    - Scythe Miné ~ £24.17

    PSU:

    - 480W Tagan 2Force ~ £57.21

    - 520W Corsair HX V2 ~ £68.02

Take your pick depending on budget - the general rule of thumb for the above is that the more expensive it is, the better it is.
