Hi all,
I got this PC back in 2003 or so and I'm about to hand it over to the parents. One thing it struggled with was overheating so I took off the HS/F, gave everything a good clean, new thermal paste, reseated the CPU etc.
It all went back together nicely but I guess it detected that the CPU had been unseated and upon boot gave me a "Warning! CPU has been changed" error. I reset the bios and the error went away and it now boots nicely and seems fine.
The only problem is that resetting the BIOS reset the overclock on the CPU and it's now running at 1.09GHZ. The machine was bought pre-overclocked and I have no idea how to restore it to its overclocked status! The mobo is an Asus A7N8X delux and it's got 1.5GB of RAM in 3 sticks. There's a pair of sticks which I guess are both 512mb and they're PC3200, the other stick I can't get an ID on.
Thanks very much for your help!
