    Intel Price Cuts

With the rumour/fact (not sure which ) of intel dropping prices on July 22nd what are peoples guesses to the prices for a:

    E6600
    E6750
    Q6600

Im going to build a new rig at the end of the month and to help with knowing what i have to spend it would be nice to have a rough figure for their price

    Thanks

The E6750 is replacing the E6600 so you're looking at a round-a-bout ish of:

    Q6600 - £160
    E6750 - £125

But they're not gonna magically change at 00:01am on the 22nd, it'll take time for retailer prices to reflect the cuts - a couple of weeks to a month I'd say.

if they've got a clue they'll be running on minimal stocks beforehand & probably already placed orders for delivery at the new prices. I think that yo'll see the new prices pretty fast.

Well the Intel prices (per 1000) are currently $530 for it, and they are dropping to half i.e. $266, factor in the exchange rate, add VAT and you're more or less there.

Prices are sliding down slowly all the time, but I do hope there is a jump down around the 22nd, as i need to build a machine for a friend that week before I leave on holiday for a month (he won't wait 'til I get back...)

and yeah, the q6600 and 6850 should go to $266 which if you alter for excahnge rate gets you roughly £133, and add 17.5% you get £156, so they should end up being £160 to £170, but whether they do is anyones guess...

E6750 might be a nice sweet low price, if it ends up around £130, it could be a winner

    Ooh, look what I found...

overclockers have them on pre-order, though I'm not sure I'd recommend them to purchase from, it gives a good idea of prices

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/produc...id=6&subid=793

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.33GHz (1333FSB) - Retail - Pre-order £99.99 (£117.49)

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.66GHz (1333FSB) - Retail - Pre-order £124.99 (£146.86)

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 "LGA775 Conroe" 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail - Pre-order £169.99 (£199.74)

I imagine other website will beat these prices when they actually come out

Remember the original core2duo preorder sham from overclockers?

it ended with them getting hardly any stock, despite them claiming that they already had it, and that they had an intel rep working with them.

After a load of people complained, Gibbo, their sales manager said "Nobody forced you to preorder".

Do yourself a favour an buy from somewhere else, it will probably arrive on time and be cheaper.

And don't forget that the bustards take money from you as soon as you order.

I totally agree that they are not the place to order from. But it's a good indication that the price drops are real, and should happen close to if not on, july 22nd

So let's hope that Scan have them all week on today only at the new prices (July 22nd is Sunday, so they could be on from Monday )

Pricing changes are real time - as soon as we get them - they change.

But we can't comment about products that currently don't appear to exist.
