New UK pricing for Q6600 filtering through already.

Looks like Eclipse Computers are one of the first to pull the trigger with a price drop to £170.32. At this stage I think it is all still marketing brinkmanship and nothing will go out until next week.

    http://www.eclipsecomputers.com/prod...code=CPI-Q6600

If anyone receives a reduced price Q6600 could they please post source, price and stepping here. I'm keen to find out if the quads with G0 stepping have hit the supply chain yet or am I likely to get an older B3 stepping in these early days. Anyone at Scan care to comment?

    Either way its all good.

Well yeah, but I think they have a lowered TDP, which means they probably run cooler.

£170 is tempting, was going to go for a Q6700 but thats a lot of power for the money.

It was so tempting that I actually ordered one because I read "Normally in Stock" on their web site.

Unfortunately "Normally in Stock" (I learnt when I phoned them) does not mean that they do indeed have it in stock, but that generally they do, and for this particular SKU they don't, but they expect to get it Monday or Tuesday, or sometimes next week.

    I got paid yesterday

But I'm not buying one, I'm getting an E6750 in a few weeks- a very good price! (hopefully it wont go up too much!)

Good luck ever seeing it or your money again! I, like many others, have had some really bad experiences with Eclipse Computers, they lie on their website about parts they have in stock, they'll send the wrong items and expect you to pay for the return postage, and even if you manage to get them to agree a refund, it takes the promise of court action before they'll deliver on it.
