Card reader for SD

Well, having moaned at Corsair a bit over my 133x SD card, it seems that my usb2.0 card reader might be a little at fault (hmm). Before RMA'ing my card, I would like to see what exactly the problem is, so can anybody recommend a good brand card reader - must have SD and CF as minimum (micro and mini SD useful).

I am after PERSONAL recommendations - and if you've got HD Tune stats, moreso the better.

I'm using a "Technika 16in1 USB2 card reader" that i got in Tesco for about £10. Seems pretty good. I'll get some HDTune stats later tonight if you like.

I can test a 4GB Sandisk ExtremeIV CF and a 4GB Sandisk MemortStick Pro Duo. I don't have my compact digicam with me so i can't test SD i'm afraid.

Thats a lot lower than i had expected. The ExtremeIVs are rated up to 40MB/sec with the right card reader.

I would guess that the SD performance would be at least between those two

Do Crucial make a good card reader? How about the Sandisk Extreme SD, MS and CF reader, it's rated for 20MB/sec max.

I decided to purchase a Sandisk EXtreme (USB) cf/sd card reader for about £12.
Specs to follow when it arrives.

I'm currently using one of those £1 sd pen drive jobbies from my local Poundland, get around 11mb read speeds which is much better then my all in 1 USB card reader thingy.

yeah, i picked up one of the £1 ones as well, i get 10MB/sec when reading, which i can't moan about since the SD card is a good few years old.

well, the sandisk extreme arrived, and i get 15MB/s from my corsair 133x SD card.
