Swapping my PC for a laptop...

A couple of years ago I bought a PC- at the time I was considering getting a laptop instead as I was heading off for university soon after. But everyone told me there wasn't any point, which at the time they were right about.

Unfortunately, my family then moved to Abu Dhabi, meaning I now spend at least the summer there. And I can't really lug a desktop on the plain with me, so I'm looking for a laptop to replace it.

Now I saw something on the dell site that looked good and was within my budget- I just want to know whether the CPU and the video card in it are better or worse then my current desktop's (or if anyone knows a better deal for a laptop):

    Desktop:

    CPU: AMD 64 3400+
Video Card (Can't remember the make): Radeon X850 Pro 256 MB memory
Memory: 1MB Corsair 667 MhZ DDR
    Screen: 15"
    Hard Drive: 120 GB SATA

    Laptop:

    CPU: Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7300 Processor (2.0GHz,800MHz,4MB L2 cache)
Operating System: Genuine Windows Vista™ Home Premium - English
Screen Size: 15.4" Wide Screen WXGA (1280 x 800) Display
    Memory: 1024MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x512]
Hard Drive: 120GB (5400rpm) SATA Hard Drive
Video Card: nVidia® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB DDR2 dedicated graphic memory
Fixed Internal 8X DVD+/-RW Drive including Software
    Primary 9-cell Lithium-Ion Battery (85 WHr)

    Thanks

that will be better than your current pc. Gaming power is probably going to be silimar the 8600GT is very capable of todays games but nothing amazing.

Only thing I would suggest is gettin 2 gb of ram 9 or upgrade yourself later if thats cheaper and get a decent waranty if you can afford.

Order it over the phone they are doing a decent amount of discount if you haggle a little.

Also Theres two models which fit that description.. the Vostro 1500 and the inpspiron 1520. They are the same laptop just the vostro is black. One maybe cheaper than the other...take a look.
