P5K Deluxe FSB problems: stops at 427 MHz

I'm having some unexpected problems overclocking my P5K Deluxe. The thing is that the board refuses to run stable at FSB frequencies higher than 427 MHz (without raising FSB or NB voltages). At 450 Mhz it won't even give video output at startup (the graphic card fan runs at max and there's no video signal). Others seem to be able to run their P5Ks at speeds like 500+ MHz without even touching the voltages.

Is it really possible that my E6320 has its FSB-wall that low? It's not because of the CPU-frequency getting to high as I'm running it at the low multiplier setting (6), and I have no problems running the processor at higher frequencies at multiplier 7.

I have tried raising the FSB and NB voltages and I can push it a couple of megahertz more, but it gets really unstable at around 445-450 MHz.

Can it be some strange BIOS setting that is causing these problems? The memory runs at 1:1 and its rated to 1000 MHz so that can't really be the cause of this.

Whoever said they can stick the FSB up to 500Mhz without touching the voltages is a big fat liar (or they have it on auto and let the motherboard attempt to figure it out, which is probably a bad idea at that speed). You can't seriously think you can overclock something by almost 100% without signal degradation do you? I have the same CPU on a P5B and the CPU does go much higher but with the low multiplier it adds more stress on the FSB.

Hmm... I see. Did some tweaking and it actually got to POST at 450 MHz (very unstable, though). However, the MB voltages were set to auto. How high can I set the FSB and NB voltages without to big risk of ruining my MB?

Edit: Take a look at the xbitlabs review of the P5K Deluxe. They evidently got it to run @ 505 MHz at stock MB voltages.

My P5B BIOS marks voltages in red when I start setting them to dangerous levels.

Well, the P5K does not have that feature :/

Tried to raise the FSB and NB voltages quite a bit, but without any luck. Still extremely unstable @ 450 MHz. I'm beginning to think that 427 MHz may be the FSB wall of my CPU :/

Is it possible that the CPU PLL voltage has anything to do with this problem? I haven't touched that one.

i was just about to suggest you tweak more than just the NB and FSB voltages

Well, x-bit labs claim that they reached a stable 505 MHz just by raising vcore and vmem. Is that really impossible? Perhaps they just got a great performing sample.

Im reading 1,416 V @ vcore in BIOS hardware monitor and it's set at 1,4375 V (running stable at 7*427 MHz). The vmem is set at 2,35 V and timings 4-4-4-15 all according to OCZ's specifications. Please note that I'm not trying to overclock the RAM, it's supposed to do 500 MHz out of the box @ 2.35 V.
