New system build .... memory advice

I have ordered parts for a new system. I just need to sort out some memory.

Ths system will be based on the Asus P5KC motherboard (DDR2 & DDR3) and Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 CPU. I dont really plan to overclock.

I came across this offer @ Aria on their Super Specials: http://www.aria.co.uk/SuperSpecials/...roductId=26597

What do people think of the above OCZ Reaper RAM?

Or as I dont plan to overclock would I just be better off going for a good PC6400 kit with low timings?

    Thanks.

personally i would save myself the cash and go for the PC6400 as the performance gains from the higher cloked memory is quite minimal.

I'm not convinced by those heatspreaders to be honest. The RAM itself is fine, and uses D9GMH chips.
On large heatspreaders like that, I found that they do more harm than good, especially with the D9 chips that run hot, as they appear to keep the heat in, even more so for the FlexXLC models.

Thanks for the replies. Ended up ordering Crucial Ballistix. I normally use Crucial RAM so decided to stick with them.

    Nickp.
