does it have to be cordless? if i was to buy a new headset it would be something from the seinheiser range they have some new headsets out which might be worth checkin out
You could always try Ventrilo which has alot better quality and individual volume controls
Sennheiser's PC 150 and 160 series are all comfortable and have excellent sound quality. Fairly pricey though. A cheaper option is Speed-Link's Medusa 5.1 headsets. They do a pretty good approximation of surround sound (using left, right and centre channel connections) and several them include handy breakout boxes.
For gaming I would NEVER use anything that is wireless! Its just not reliable enough yet.
I'm quite pleased with my LN6841 - but a list of a few with mic's can be found here

A bit pricey but does the job.
and totally bottom of the price tree.....but I got some this morning from Scan. Really very good for comms like Skype and fine for casual gaming

For under £2.50 you'll not be robbed. No good for music but great for lan parties. I shall but a few more next time I order from Scan for spares....you never know who'll forget their headphones.
I use a set of HD 457's myself for music... nice :)
Thanks for the replies. :)I think I will give up on going cordless and bluetooth. I am now thinking of going for a headset and mic, but I want to be able to easily switch between the headphones and my 5.1 speaker setup.
I use a digital coax from my Audigy sound card to a digital decoder and 5.1 setup, and dont want to keep messing around at the back of my PC every time I want to use headphones and mic.
I am tempted by the Plantronics DSP-550, unless you know better? I dont plan on watching movies or listening to music, I just want to play games and talk online.:help:
The Plantronics won't be bad, but you could get some Sennheiser's for roughly the same price.
Do you mean the Sennheiser PC166 USB Headset? Only I have just been looking for the cheapest place to get either of them from.:)Quote:

Scan has the Sennheiser PC 151 in stock for £31, or the 161 for £45.
