Reliable Wireless Adapter

Im getting a new pc and I need a wireless adapter for the old one so my router can sit with the new one. I dont care whether its PCI or USB (neater vs easier to install?) but I want to keep it as cheap as possible - just over £10 perhaps from some of the prices on scan.

I know that at £10 I could be buying complete rubbish so does anyone know which brands I should buy or avoid?

this is my new best friend.. works with everything.. even vista 64 bit as i've just discovered which is pretty amazing as nothing else seems to.

My pc is always connected before you can open a browser to. It's awesome.

Ok thanks all. I think Ill probably go for the ASUS one as its cheap and it says it supports up to 138Mbps (not like 54Mbps would bottleneck my 2meg internet anyway though).

I bought that recently, and it worked great... until I installed the drivers for my graphics card. For some reason there was some compatibility issue with the drivers, which stopped the card from connecting to the net. This is using the latest forceware drivers, and the latest wireless card drivers from the Asus site.

I've gone back to using my Asus wireless usb adapter instead. I only bought the pci card to make my computer a bit neater

Hmmm...that might be a problem. Although the wireless card will be going in my old pc <--, dont know if Ill have the same problems with an old graphics card. Have you had any problems with drivers staffsMike?

Use the driver on the CD but don't install (or if you do, do not use) the software for connecting to the routers.

It works perfectly this way but yes i have had trouble with thier software.

Ive gone with the ASUS as its cheap and if you got the drivers sorted then hopefully theyll be ok for me without too much trouble.
