The ironic thing is the mouse pointer appears to be at full contrast

I'm pretty sure its a driver bug

More than likely to be a driver bug, they're still playing catch up, we've been used to XP driver stability because it was such an old OS, Vista changed the display architecture a lot so it's expect to have some bumps along the way. As for flash, it works for me with Firefox.

Yes, mine did that the other day, I had to go into the Nvidia panel -> adjust desktop colour settings, and the contrast had dropped to 0, so I just upped it to 50%, clicked apply, and it hasnt done it since.

Just after that though, windows update said there was a new driver for the 2407, maybe that was something to do with it?

Sounds like a driver issue - make sure you use a driver cleaner when changing drivers:

    1. grab - http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=91371
    2. Uninstall current driver from add/remove
    3. reboot to safe mode
    4. run XDC to clean drivers
    5. reboot to normal mode, install drivers

I've seen it happen with ATI drivers where you have to select Color->Black & White Levels->Microsoft MCE black and white levels in order to get things looking normal (ATI1800XT) in the CCC. This happened a couple of driver revisions ago.
