Just bought a Q6600 () and in need of a HSF to go with it. Currently leaning towards the Scythe Ninja, is that the best or are there any other good ones?

Thats what im using. Seems to work very well. I'd guess that the thermalright 120 extreme will perhaps be slightly better but quite a bit more expensive. Tuniq tower gets good results to.
i hear the thermalright ifx14 is very close - id wait a little first and then get it.

From reading the reviews here at hexus and on other sites, it seems that some coolers perform quite differently depending upon how you are performing the benchmark. The only one I've seen with consistent results is the Tuniq Tower 120, so that's the one I'm going for.
Remember when reading reviews that the case airflow will seriously effect the observed cooling.
just got the ultra-120 and it looks the biz. the only thing that seems to let it down slightly is the fan retention clips, a slight mod to tighten the clips maybe in order.
Just installed a Tuniq 120 on a Quad 6600 this afternoon. I ma getting an average of 34 deg via CoreTemp. This is on the lowest fan speed easy to install. I also used Arctic Coolings MX1 as the base of the Tuniq is of the same appearance as the AC Pro 7, a bit rough.
This is at stock speed and at idle.
1 hour of Orthos cores hit 52 deg again on the lowest fan speed.
Space in my skull
I almost got the Mine but the ninja was on today only for £25 and couldnt resist lol
