Yet another PSU thread

righty o, going up the road shortly to get some bits for my new rig, but the psu issue is doing my head in. out of these which would you recommended and why?

Silverstone Strider ST75-F this is what i'm leaning on as the cables are plenty long enough (even for an antec case)

or Tagan Easycon 700 looking at reviews it's not the quietest

or

OCZ EvoStream 720 the cables for this look like the belong to some machinery (the 24pin cable looks like it came off a welder).

all of them are in a similar price range, so it's down to experience and preference.

better than my current specs, but here goes,

asus p5k-e - not gonna be seriously o/c but might have a dabble. and only need for one ethernet port
c2d e6850 or quad
bfg 8800 gts 320
2gig geil ultra 6400

and a couple of hdd's couple of dvd drives

but will have to last 12-18 months if possible or untill that hole in my wallet gets a bit bigger

A Corsair 520W PSU will more than run that machine. If you're thinking Tagan forget the easycon and go with a dual engine series PSU. Silverstone PSUs are a bit flaky.

I would say a corsair 520 or if you want bigger you could get corsair620 or a seasonic m12 600.

I would second the Enermax Infiniti. Never had a problem with mine plus it has the 8 pin connector for next gen cards.

650 watt

£110 expensive but worth it.

If you dont want to spend that amount then the 520 watt Corsair would be sufficient.

Amps for 12 volt triple rail on the Enermax are 28 28 32.

Will be very quiet, and have more than enough power for your system.

Yep...The Enermax Infinti is by far the best PSU in the £100 ish range at the moment.
