E6600 or E6750
Hi
I am looking at buying a new processor, which one do you think I should go for? The E6600 or E6750.
The E6750 is cheaper and has better looking specifications, but from where I have looked the E6600 has better benchmarking results.
Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

tough choice really as they are much the same. The e6600 has more overclocking potential as long as you get a good one.

I didn't think the latest batch of E6600's were as good at overclocking but then I think the E6750 are a bit hit and miss too. I guess it also depends on how far you intend to overclock. If only a little then I'd opt for a E6750 since it's cheaper.
Obviously if buying the E6750 make sure your motherboard supports the new line of processors as well. ;)

Does look like the E6750 would be the better choice, unless you have the budget to stretch for the Q6600

Go for a Q6600 for £166 :)
But otherwise get a E6750 for about £125

Personally, I'd take the E6750 for the lower cost, higher speed and guaranteed G0 steppings that should give you more thermal leeway.

seems a no-brainer to me... the E6750 is a higher clock speed and a lower price - is it not as simple as that?

E6600's have a 9x multiplier so they're easier to overclock (E6750's only have an 8x)... although personally I'd still go with an E6750 and just make sure I had some decent memory. :)

Thanks all for the help, seems like the E6750 I will have to go for.
