Case Choice

Looking to buy a new case.
Needs to have good cooling - pref good cooling.
Strong (but can be aluminium)
Cheap (less then £60)
Psu at bottom would be a good feature.

Ive been considering Coolermaster Rc-690 but ive heard a few bad things about it also.
Love the antec p180 but it went back up in price to above my price range.

Suggestions?

I think you may be hard pressed to find a bottom mounting PSU case with good cooling for less than £60... the most obvious choice I can see would be the Antec 900 that is about £70 on Scan and Ebuyer.

I'm sure however the are plenty of good cooling cases out there in your price bracket which don't have a bottom mounting PSU, most cases by Antec, Lian Li, Silverstone to name but a few are all good quality and generally have good cooling from what I have read.

My Silverstone Tremjin TJ08 is great and keeps everything nice and cool, stock cooling under full load my E6550 didn't get above 45oC, not that this case would be any good for you unless you want to get a uATX motherboard! But I would think the TJ04 would have similar characteristics that retails for about £65.

well im pretty sure im buying the coolermaster at mo, but i like the artic cooling cases building one up for sis at mo n really well made with a nice power supply built in, i do prefer cases with doors if honest, psu at bottom not the most important thing cooling is tho.

I've seen a new black P180 go for another fiver i.e. £65, might have been on scan, but can't remember when.

What is your concern? Each case has pros and cons, I think the CM690 pro list is much longer and substantial than its con list

With the GC £10 off you could also get the Sonta III or pay a little more for the P180 which really is worth it.

P180/182 is a way better option to the Sonata if you can afford the difference but the Sonata is an excellent case - but they are different options. Sonata is complete with PSU and P18n is plus a good PSU. (I have Sonata, Sonata II, Sonata III, P180 and P182 so can give balanced view).

It is horses for courses and budget is a consideration. If you can afford it get a P182, you will have a great case with clean "PSU-wires-in-main-compartment free" build.

However I use the Sonata for budget focused builds and it is an excellent choice - fit the extra 120 fan though.
