What is the fastest RAM an AMD based bored can take

There are some really silly fast DDR2 ram speeds around on the intel boards

The AMD boards seem much slowed. Whats the fastest available and what is the board.
    It is Inevitable.....

correct, AMD only officially support DDR2 800 but then again that's also the fastest DDR2 that Intel officially support as well.

Also, testing new speeds, making a new chip that supports it, along with the chipsets is major $$$.

Its easier to have conservative speeds, then let people overclock if they must.
Oh, and memory bandwidth isnt a major problem, even at these 'lower' speeds.
