PSU's and Mobos

Anyways, Im on an AGP mobo and I need a better PSU. Is there anything specific I have to look at while shopping for one?

Depends really, whats your current(or old) PSU?, and what do you have in your system?

Its a 300W (yes I know ) PSU, mobo is Asus A7V333, Geforce 4 MX440 (planning on upgrading it to a 7series), 512MB RAM (PC2700) (gonna order 1Gb tomorrow). Need to know anything else?

Something like a Corsair 520W would be plenty for that system and easily be in your €100 budget, and also gives you a quite a bit of room if you decide to upgrade to more powerful parts at a later date, although even anything above 400W is most likely more than enough.

The Corsair 520watt is a very good choice. Its easily in your budget at about £70. If not then try to get psu from a reputable company such as OCZ, Seasonic, Hiper, Coolermaster, Antec, Tagan etc

A Tagan 330W will easily handle that machine for half of the budget.

There was another thread on this recently - Just because someone is willing to spend that much don't mean they must.

It also leaves more money for next time around, should you need to upgrade it again (by which time, PSU's will probably have another 42pins and 6 new acronyms to go with them)

i use a enermax noisetaker rated 370w.
i am running a e2140 @ 3.1ghz and a 8800gts all with no problems.

There's is the new 450W Corsair around the £50 mark, seems more in line with the specification mentioned and great quality.

If that was a reference for me IIRC it was a much meatier sytem.
It was more of a case in the other thread of get what you can for your budget.....there isnt anything wrong with that if the system warrants it.
