    Poor 3dmark06 scores

Ok so my systems stable, the temperatures are ok and i'm generally happy with the system at 3.2GHz.

The problem is though that people with lower spec'ed systems than me are around getting 5fps (at least) more than me in 3dMark06!

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=2637142 is my current project where I acheived 13018. I know that 3DMark isnt the best of benchmarks but it's my hardware and I wanna know why the hard earned cash i've spent on it isn't performing as well as others who have (some what look like) inferior setups!

Can't be graphics drivers as i've tried the latest ones as well as the 158.22 drivers which are most popular with users of 3dmark on the futuremark site.

I'd really love to hear your suggestions. (i've noticed that on the cpu fsb is says its 266 when actually it's running at around 350MHz..)

Running dual monitors lowers your performance. I originally got around 8700 3Dmarks then when I disabled my second monitor it shot up to over 10000. Also make sure u turn off any programs running in the background.

I wouldn't worry about that, it says the same thing on my results

    A couple tips before benchmarking..

    -Restart your computer
-Right click your Nvidia logo and go to performance and quality settings and choose High Performance
-Open nvidia control panel and at the top where it says "Adjust image settings with a preview" choose Performance
-Disable all open programs except for windows services (Close explorer)
-Use task manager to start the futuremark 3dmark application

If none of this helps than you can always overclock the GTX using ATi Tools (even a slight OC will improve benchmarks and overall FPS)

If you're just going for raw FPS and 3DMark Epenis bragging rights, that's great, but anyone who likes their new expensive hardware to look decent won't do this

That depends on which services you have running
Some services can be worse than background programs. Its certainly worth going through them and checking what can be stopped.

    Now that's getting extreme

Hey pal, I just posted some tips that are useful in achieving a higher benchmark (Which obviously this guy isn't satisfied with his).

Feel free to offer some of your tips to help this guy achieve a better score rather than bashing mine
