As the title really - is there any point/advantage in buying 800mhz ram over the 667mhz memory for such a cpu?
pc5300/5400 is the bare minimum the chip will run with.
800Mhz would be useful for overclocking.
I run exactly that - an E6750 and 2gb of 667MHz memory. I dont have any compatability problems if thats what you wanted to know. If you're not on a tight budget though, follow the advice above.:)
I was just looking in to this. DDR-667mhz is just fine.
