CPU Water Cooling running to high?

could you take a picture of the current setup?
look for the large black box with lots of metal in it
it will look something like this:

is it 120x120mm?

Barbs look like this:

If they look like that, you're system should be quite easily interchangable.

I have no idea, when I look in case it has 2 pipes going to cpu and a small water container at the bottom, another 2 pipes go upto the top of the case where 2 fans are sitting, HAHA like a neddle in a haystack
The plate that sits on the cpu is square, it often moves about and I have had to put 2 pieces of plastic under where it rests,otherwise overtime the pipe on the right pushes it over to the left. As in its not sitting right in the middle of the CPU.

Like I say I have no idea about water cooling, maybe they move abit freely because it's set inside a cage like thing with room for the resting plate to move, If only I could take a picture.

Well that doesnt sound too healthy in itself.
Are you sure its fitted properly (sounds like it isnt as it moves on its own) because with its Quad or not, those temps are WAYYY to high. I wouldve thought stock air cooling would be less than that tbh.

Yes they are barbs, is that large balck box sitting uptop the case under the 2 fans?

the components should be easily interchangeable, so you should be able to get a half-decent block.

can you take some pictures of the inside of the case, as i'm not quite sure what you're meaning when you say "it" moves.

OK i got some pictures, but they poor quailty webcam, better than nothing.

You can see the 2 pieces of plastic I put under the bottom to stop it shifting over to the left.


Whats strange is, since I have had the case on its side and moved it about abit, its seems to be cooling better, although 70 is still to high.

it looks like the block is orientated 90 degrees out of kilter. You shouldn't be able to see the retention mechanism underneath the block, like you can in the last picture.
Try re-orienting the cpu block so that the two pipes are vertically aligned, rather than horizontal.
also, did the loop come pre-filled?

Can you explain this to me please, im not sure what you mean. Due you mean it is not in the right position? and needs to be moved over.

Or is i need to take the thing out so the pipes are on 1 side of the metal bracket? also does any water comeout when i take it off?

And yes it came filled with Fesser One Cooling Fluid.

Hmm, in that last picture, it looks like there is bubbles in the pipe to the left?

It was turned of at the time, would it make a diffrence? are you ment to see the water flowing, because the water pump at the bottom, there is not alot of activity except when you turn it on.

looking at a few pictures on google of the XP light, it would seem that the block will sit like that no matter the orientation. Can you physically move the waterblock about on the processor?

Yes it will move if the pastic bits are not there, it will shift over to the left.

It will move to the place on the left, where the piece of plastic is. It will shift, but it's not instant it takes time, this is how I found out the temps kept rising.

But ever since I took the photos, it's running cooler Unguru is saying between 52-55.

Is there anyway I can check the fluid circulation.

check for moving bubbles, they should be pretty much eliminated as it'll have been run before it left the factory. See the screw on the top? you need to tighten that so that it drops in to hold the block in place, as right now the block probably isn't making good contact with the CPU.

Ok I tighten it slightly. I get back to you, thanks for the help by the way.

just make sure when you tighten it, its going into that dent!
