    Thermalright Ultra 120 eXtreme Backplate

Well I RMA'ed my motherboard but the backplate was stuck on and I couldn't remove it so, I will need a new backplate for my heat sink, but where do I get a new backplate for it though?

Edit: would getting Arctic silver help or just keep using the paste that came with the heat sink?

Looks like the tekheads site is down for now, its a thermalright bolt thru kit for 775 that you want.

Edit: although you will probably end up with the old one back if they cant get it off

I never guessed how strong the glue on the backplate would be, but I'm sure with a screw drivr they could pry it off

I had the same problem, it was stuck on tight. Got my fingers under there and tore it off.

If you warm it up first it will come off a lot easier (been there, done that too )

Warm it up? Hair-drier? Warm room? Still hopefully scan can pull it off, don't want it to affect my RMA though.

The trick is to not peel off the sticky backing in the first place
