What's this...another cooling thread, surely not....

I have the Coolermaster 532, same internals as the Centurion. Basically its the case that is the problem.

I have used an E6600 with and Abit AW9D Max in a LianLi case and get system temps of around 30 deg c. CPU was around 32 this is with an AC 7 Pro.

Put it in the 532 and temps shot up cpu is now 39 and system at 44. Used same cooler AC 7 Pro, so the only diff is the case. It previously had a E6300 and I was getting the same temps around 38 - 39 deg. Tried the E6300 in the lianLi just to satisfy my curiosity and temps dropped to 29 at stock. All temps measured with uGuru so add another 7 deg for CoreTemp.

The stock cooler is also blowing down so some of that hot air is blowing into your case. I would try an AC Pro 7 to begin with and at least the warm air from the cooler will blow towards the rear of the case.

Other than that changing the case with decent cooling would help a huge amount if the temps are of that much concern, but as Acrobat has suggested altering PCProbes alarm level wil stop the siren.

DratUK - not what I wanted to hear at all!! I'll start with the coolers/fans and work towards a new case, having only had it less than a year I wasn't planning to change so soon!

Welcome. Let us know how you get on. I can recommend that AC7 Pro too by the way. They are good CPU coolers, cheap, and everyone loves them :P

You might not need anything at all though.

p.s. If it was me, before I ditched that case, I would probably consider hacking it apart and modifying it to improve its cooling. Not sure if its possible though. But its just that fans are so good nowdays, I would feel confident about cutting a hole in the back and sticking a fan over it to suck out warm air etc... And you can even do things like buy a really good 120mm and fit it over an 80mm fan slot (using a little fan convertor thingy).

So theres a solution to any problem anyway :) But like I said, you might not even have a problem, because I think those temps sound ok, and if its not crashing, its probably fine. It may just be that the siren warning temperature is set too low, so if that was increased a bit, it may never bother you again :)

Just to update this thread, I fitted an 80mm inlet fan to the duct on the side of the case (after removing the cone thingy) and temps dropped by 5C both at idle and during BF2/PR.

I like the simple solutions but welcome the detailed responses.
