    memory timings?

So how much of a peformance gain do I expect to see if I upgrade my 3-3-3-8 generic ram to something like 2-3-2-5 HQ ram? Does that make noticeable difference in games? Do you think it's worth upgrading? I have always used budget rams so don't really know what HQ rams are like. Thanks.

I always use high quality memory, mainly for overclocking headroom/timings and the warranties. If you are just looking at spending what is usually a hefty premium for top ram just to swap from/to the timings you indicate, its prolly not worth it. Most performance in a PC comes from pure CPU Mhz. 1:1 ram alongside this with (hopefully) tight timings adds that extra performance.

If you dont intend to push the ram way out of spec, the timings you have already are more than acceptable.

I rekon you would see a difference in benchmarks, but not real world gaming.

Thanks. If that's the case then I'll just dump this idea and save my money for a new monitor. Cheers

I totally agree, especially if you are using c2duo. The extra cost really only gives a very small performance increase from what i've seen.interesting article here
