    Core2Duo Quad Core System... P35 vs G33?

Can someone advise me regarding this setup:

    CPU - Intel Core 2 Quad-Core Q6600, S775, 2.40 GHz, 1066MHz FSB, 8MB Cache, Retail
    GFX - 256MB Power Color RX1950Pro Arctic Cooling PCI-E(x16) Mem 1400MHz GDDR3 GPU 600MHz 36pipes CrossFire
    MOBO - Asus P5K-VM iG33, S775, PCI-E (x16), DDR2 1066/800/667, SATA II, uATX, On Board VGA
CASE / PSU - Asus TM982 Black MicroATX Case with 400w aPFC PSU *
    RAM - Samsung 1Gb PC2-5300 (667mhz) DDR2 RAM (x2)

Will 400w be enough? I will have 1 HD in the system, and 1 DVDRW
Which is better G33 or P35? I have picked G33 as it is newer? (and it's available as MicroATX)
Most other choices are due to whether or not it's in stock at Scan.

    * not currently in stock - can anyone recommend a good PSU if I have to go with a seperate case / psu?

    Josh

400w will be fine for that.

G33 are very good boards i'd stick with them.

The corsair 450W that Hexus just reviewed would be a good choice.

    Let me find it

The G means onbaord graphics. A P35 will be fine if you dont need that.
400w is probably enough, but TBH with a Quad core, I'd be inclined to go for a bit more. I've gopt a Corsair HX 520w to make sure that the PSU is never the cause of any problems for me

I hear so many people saying how PSUs supplied with cases are a huge no-no, even though up to a couple years ago, I only ever used to use cases with PSU supplied and never had any problems: I only buy branded quality PSUs now because it's considered the 'done thing'. I was looking at buying the coolermaster 430W iGreen with 85% efficiancy @ £38 from scan, but they no longer stock it. So for my new build i will probably go for the Corsair VX450W @ £45

A P35 wont fit in the current case selection as its not microATX

I to favour the seperate case and psu route but im sure that one would be ok..probably not very quiet mind.

I know it's probably better to buy a proper PSU and case, but £100 is quite a lot more than £30 for case + 400w psu decisions decisions

reconsider it, my PC was overclocked fine at 2.4ghz (with 2 dvdrw +2 sata hdd), but when i added one more hdd, the system become unstable and cannot overclocked anymore. But when i use only 2 hdd, the pc became stable

Quad core with a discreet graphics card will be pushing it on such a cheap PSU. I don't even think it would run it stably to be honest - it certainly couldn't sustain it for long before the inevitable bang.
