I've been pondering getting some sort of RAID NAS appliance to protect/corral all the files on our little home network (laptop, 2 PCs, mac). Most of what's on the market is either expensive, rough around the edges, or requires additional bits of kit (most specifically, a gigabit switch).

So I was intrigued to see that Freecom have now launched this little puppy. 2-disk raid, 802.11G, gigabit router, USB ports, not massively pricey. Seems to tick all the boxes, but that usually means there's a catch somewhere. The USB/Firewire datatanks seem to have a good reputation, but I can't find anything on the WAN datatank - I think it was only recently launched, but this place isn't short of early adopters. What's the Hexus.Consensus?
